SCMRRC GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

February 24th, 2026

9:00am Meeting called to order.

Announcement from Tony: Past club President Don Russ passed away this past Saturday.

Swap Meet recap:

Accounting:

$920 in table rentals

$805 in entry fees

$2,115 in Sales

$24 in food.

Tom will be advertising in the Independent for donations. He is looking to do this once a month.

Earnie asked why we are selling donations. It was explained that this is how we make money.

Food: We need to do better than breaking even. Next year we should add pop and maybe bagels.

We need to raise prices.

Club RCSC Budget is due Friday. Dean requested a cart to put the n-scale stuff on. A discussion on the

back door entry system. It finished with the sentiment that we should not be using the back door for entry.

It is ok to use it as an exit. The dog club closet is on the budget.

Club future improvements discusion: Move all the shelving unit to the dog club closet. This will make room

for an O-gauge layout where the shelving units were.

The security cameras are beginning to function again. We will be replacing more cameras on Thursday.

Discussion on the Display Case: Tom was asking if we had power in the display window. He would like to

have the layout video playing in that window case.

N-scale: Dean and Rick are working on continuing updates.

O-Scale: Rick and Brian are working on this. They purchased some track and engine at the swap meet.

The project is requesting $200 in spending money. It was moved and seconded with all in favor.

Brian wants to purchase 2 new magnifying work lights for $40 a piece. The request was moved and

seconded with all in favor.

Web Presence: We have a new Facebook page: SunCityModelRailroadClub. Our current web hosting

solution, Joomla is not working for us. Rick would like an advertisement on the website that we are now

fixing Lionel type equipment.

Tom is working on some documentation for new members as well as redesigning our Brochure trifold.

A discussion was had about creating a Audio Program that visitors could use to learn about the layout.
