SCMRRC GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
January 27th, 2026
9:00am Meeting called to order.
14 people in attendance
Meeting minutes from the December general meeting were read and accepted.
Treasurer: $15,484.63 in the bank. Dues are Due now. Around 30 have paid already. Moved to Accept the report. 2nd with unanimous vote.
Committees:
Track Maintenance: Fixed the South main on the North side. A wire was disconnected underneath near the control panel for staging. Staging still has issues with track power.
Education Committee: Dennis F requested that anyone with an idea for a class to please let him know. Brian P Suggested a class on weathering rolling stock.
Scenery: Tom Q discussion on how the Red Rocks can be modified so they don’t chip.
N-Scale Display: Rick is working on track issues with the Atlas switches and steam locomotives. They are being replaced by Pico switches.
Z-Scale Project: The engine in the glass case runs better than the donated Engine.
Old Business:
Swap Meet: Feb 14th. We have sold 31 tables so far. Tom Q is handling advertising in the Independent as well as the recreation center electronic signage. Tony requested the N scale people assemble at his house this Thursday just after noon to move the product to the club. Door prizes and a raffle were discussed. Tony thinks we had a raffle in the past. This topic was tabled till next year’s planning meeting. Volunteers: Some could be needed Friday afternoon if we are allowed into the room early. Otherwise, everyone should be at the rec center at 6am Saturday morning. Richard to handle coffee and doughnuts.
New Business:
Facebook Page: Tom Q has created one for the club.
Paying online for our membership was discussed and tabled.
Brian P brought up the idea of advertising (to the club members?) that we have members with skills and we do repairs for donations. Advertise we can test engines.
The meeting was adjourned. Moved, Seconded with unanimous vote.
