SCMRRC GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

March 24th, 2026

9:00am Meeting called to order.

The February minutes were read and accepted with a unanimous vote.

Tom Q has sent in 3 requests for the outdoor storage area adjacent to the dog facility. Tom designed an O scale layout to go where our current storage is.

V.P. Brian P had nothing to report.

Finances: $19,539.09 in the Bank with $383 cash on hand.

Track Committee had nothing to report.

Education Committee: Look into training on the smaller NCE throttles.

Club Brochure: Tom Q had nothing to report.

Audio Programming: Tom mentioned the possibility of creating a self guided audio program for visitors.

New Business:

Mike Batzka has assumed the board position of Member at Large

Motion to purchase 3 new wireless NCE “Hammerhead” controllers for $250 each. Moved, Seconded with all in favor.

Motion to send back all thre broken NCE “Hammerhead” controllers to NCE for repair. NCE estimates that they can make one work out of the three for $110. Moved, Seconded with all in favor.

Motion to purchase 2 new wired NCE “Hammerhead” for $155 each for the N-Scale layout. Moved, Seconded with all in favor.

Motion to purchase Decoder and supplies to make the Texas & Pacific steam engine DCC. This is estimated at $147. Moved, Seconded with all in favor.

In regard to the “hammerhead” controllers being damaged by incorrect battery replacement, it is decided that we should put a graphic up showing the proper installation.

Education Suggestion that we have a DCC decoder installation class in the fall.

Motion to authorize the N-scale layout committee to spend $400 on new switches and trackwork as well as other items. Moved, Seconded with all in favor.

Motion to purchase HO roadbed squashed as it was pointed out the track committee can spend up to $100 on discretionary spending for things like this.

Tom Q is looking into the feasibility of Electronic Sign In.

Tom Q Motion to purchase a new website (Wix) that we can manage internally for $175. Moved, Seconded with all in favor.

Tom Q would like to take a new club picture. Everyone wear their club shirts to the next General meeting.
